Turning Away from Negative to Positive News

October 21, 2009 in Politics by Kyle Yates

When in the world has freedom ever come easy? Countries around the world have fought for their freedom for century upon century. It has never been an easy task or come overnight. Freedom comes sometimes at a very high price. Millions and millions of people throughout history have laid down their lives for it.

So why does the mainstream media paint the picture that fighting for freedom is almost always a losing battle and usually never worth fighting for? Positive news doesn’t sell.

Take for instance the latest news about Afghanistan. If mainstream news stations were to talk about President Karzai and the fact that many Afghanis are going to have to vote again against all odds of threat and Taliban attack as another step toward true freedom, people wouldn’t be as interested in reading the article or listening to the report. It is a fact among journalists, especially liberal ones.

Bad news is more likely to attract a casual reader’s eye than good news. It’s a secret journalists have known for years (and in fact, we even succumbed ourselves to the negative slant when we posted the story here): bad news gets more attention than good news, meaning more people are likely to read a story if the headline implies something rotten rather than something wonderful. Doesn’t mean people want for bad things to happen, of course — just that they’re more inclined to want to read about them. Bad News Sells Better Than Good News

The mainstream media are good at selling bad news as good news. Yet, in recent years, many mainstream news stations and newspapers are taking huge hits in viewers and readership. Is Internet the cause? The liberal media would like for us to believe so. But something else is causing these companies to lose viewer interest other than Internet influence.

What has been the norm for many years may be changing. People around the world are losing their appetite for bad news and looking for good news. Why else would so many people from nations around the world be expressing such interest in a world leader and peace? They are tired of bad news and want something different than the daily diet of negative news. They want good news!

One company has caught onto this: Fox News. They run more positive news than most other media outlets and rank #1 in the industry. However, in a predominantly leftist liberal news world where unbiased news knows no value, Fox News organization has come under fire and is taking punishment for not toeing the line like other news networks.

The White House has recently taken aim at the organization saying Fox News is "not news at all", but merely a conservative mouthpiece. Why? Is it true? No way! All you have to do is look back at what Fox has presented as news and anyone with half a mind can see they are a sincere news organization. It is no wonder why they are #1. They are the only mainstream news organization that still practices reporting news as news and lets the viewer and reader make their own opinion.

President Obama and his administration are upset that they cannot control Fox like they do ABC, CNBC, CNN and BBC so they have resorted to name calling and smear tactics, the usual liberal response to anything or anyone that does not fall in line with their views.

The White House and Liberal mainstream media want Americans to believe that Fox is a company unlike other news organizations; out to make a profit and the bad guy. Yet, which one of the aforementioned is non-profit? None! Typical liberal smoke and mirrors coming from the White House. They paint their adversaries as something they are not, trying to throw people off their bad scent in hope the people listening and reading are idiots.

However, the opposite effect is happening to Fox. Their ranking as #1 stands strong and their viewer numbers are soaring. More and more Americans are learning they are going to get a more precise news story and unbiased report from Fox than any other new source.

Unbiased news exemplifies American freedom at its core. Companies would do well to realize this as Americans have realized that Fox toes the line for freedom not for the White House.

Senator Edward Kennedy Passes

The last of the Kennedy brothers has gone beyond all borders and faced his Maker today.

He was a very liberal Liberal, but aside from his beliefs, he was someone that has shaped America for better or worse. Even though I do not see eye to eye on his policies and ideals, I am sorry to see him pass and pray for his family and their needs that through this they will seek God as their comforter and that those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus may come to know Him as their Savior.

Integrity in the Media – Finally!

January 27, 2007 in Christian, Politics, Videos by Kyle Yates

It’s about time I get to see quality video on people with the integrity and character of which America has been built on instead of the mess the mainstream media hits us with over here in Japan and elsewhere abroad!

I’m an American living and working in Japan teaching English, and even though I am far away from my home country, I try to support her and our countrymen and troops in every breath. It is so refreshing to see video like the one just produced by Public Eye Productions interviewing General Norman Schwarzkopf.

Living here in Japan isn’t easy. Japanese people are wonderful people, and in many ways Japan is like a young America. However, the outside influence received here, via the mass media and the majority of foreigners bad-mouthing America and Americans, is mostly propaganda liberalism, which plays a huge role in how people feel about America and Americans. This, of course, is a huge problem around the globe, not only in Japan. For anyone in this situation, it is a difficult task at times dealing with and speaking against the anger and resentment held towards America and Americans. It is difficult explaining to people here that what they see on TV and in the news isn’t what America truly is or about.

As a Christian, I have learned through the Bible that one of the best ways to lead people to Christ is through my own actions and words. This is not only great advice for spreading the Gospel, but fruitful in showing people how Americans used to be and still are. I try to live my life with integrity and honor as a Christian, to help build a better view of our beloved country and be a guide to those I interact with. General Norman Schwarzkopf’s interviews and discussion in the video are words I wish most Americans lived by and seeing the video was a wonderful boost, something many of us abroad need to fight and deal with those who oppose us.

I would love to see more video like this freely available to people outside America to help provide a better grasp of who we are as Americans and to build up and strengthen those needing such words of wisdom. I’m fed up with what information I receive here from the mainstream liberal media. It is so one-sided and fully of negativity.
