Noah came down with chickenpox last week, right when Marc and Ria arrived from San Francisco. Noah only had two days of itchiness and his case was rather mild. Luckily, Marc and Ria and everyone else in the family, except Mia, had already had chickenpox.
I had heard from my father and many other people that it is good for kids to get chickenpox early in life so they don’t have to deal with getting them when they are older, when symptoms are worse. My dad also told me that many doctors say parents with kids who’ve never had chickenpox should let them play with kids who do have chickenpox so they can hopefully get them while they’re young.
Well, we didn’t have to search any kids out!
Mia started complaining of a stomachache the day before yesterday and now she has little spots appearing on her body. It’s her turn!
She went to bed early tonight and have forewarned her to not scratch her itchy spots on her body to keep from spreading it. We told Noah not to scratch and he did a pretty good job avoiding scratching; probably why his cases wasn’t so bad. Hopefully, Mia has learned and will listen to our advice.
