The Camarillo Grade

Summer has arrived. But for us, summer isn’t really until we have stepped on California soil and have begun the homestay program.

Just over two more weeks to go!

Anyone, friend or family, in America, please come visit us while we are there in California. We’d love to see you and spend time with you before we head back to Japan, way across the Pacific.

What Are Friends For?

October 21, 2009 in friends by Kyle Yates

Friends are so important! We need them and they need us. A friendship is never 50-50. It is a bond that never breaks. A true friendship is about giving not taking.

We use our friends when we need to most and even when we shouldn’t. Sometimes we use them to bounce ideas off of. Other times we use them to lean on. Friends give us advice, an ear, a shoulder, their heart and mind. But best of all friends give themselves.

Some people pretend to be friends, but are not. They are only in the friendship to get and not give. They take, take, take. It’s a characteristic that true friends cannot continue to hold onto if they truly want to be friends.

Sure at times friends act selfishly or hurt one another, but a true friend realizes their wrongs and apologizes. They work at their friendship and never give up.

If you have someone still standing by you through the thick and thin of a bad situation, sometimes taking the brunt end of the bad but still hanging tight with you, they are a true friend and you are blessed to have them in your life. Reciprocate!

Entertainment Dinner

May 24, 2009 in Family, friends by Kyle Yates

Tonight the kids and I went over to some friends’ house, the Kano family, for a wonderful dinner and entertainment. I brought the entertainment, being MIA and Noah.

Unfortunately Denise couldn’t make it because she began feeling sick in the afternoon. When we arrived back home tonight she was feeling so poorly she could hardly come and unlock the door to let us in.

Please pray for her to quickly recover from whatever she has. She has a slight fever and aching body, sore throat and probably other horrible symptoms.
